The Glitteriest and Prettiest Polishes of 2012

This is, you guessed it, my top Glitteriest and Prettiest Polishes of 2012! I only started blogging in May, but I've had some great glittery adventures along the way. On to the polishes! First up has to be  Lynnderella the Stars in Her Eyes. I went gaga over this one. Those stars. That holo. I almost couldn't take it off!

Next is China Glaze Riveting. I only put it on last night, and boy is it gorgeous! This is one of the prettiest and shimmeriest. Gold and orange. Yum.

Next is Delusional Polish World's Fair. This was my first polish for review from Jen. It was just so delicate and the glitter was quenched with one coat of top coat.

Then there is China Glaze Glistening Snow. This was literally glistening holo snow. It took everyone's breath away!

Next is Lynnderella Golden Rules. I love gold. Glitter. Stars. Squares. Diamonds. YES

Now we have China Glaze Electrify. The Hunger Games collection was stunning, and this polish made one gorgeous Sunday before Christmas mani!

Another Delusional Polish! Count Down. This is definitely a NYE polish. Too bad I can't wear it. I'm strict about getting through my untrieds first. Ha!

Next up is Super Hero by Whimsical by Pam. This was a matte glitter, but gosh it reminded me of Super Man! It was perfect! It lasted a long time too.

Another brand that got me was Lucky 13 Lacquer. I found her because of my love for Zelda, and her polishes did not disappoint! My fave from her collection was Prelude of Light. I'm turning into a bit of a gold polish junkie!

Finally because of my a cappella group, Stockata, I have Stockata by Black Cat Lacquer.  This polish was worn the night of our concert when I sang my Give Your Heart a Break solo. This polish just represents my group and the love for purple and black and glitter. Thanks so much Sabrina!

This was great! My top glitteriest and prettiest polishes of 2012. It was great to see my different nails, different polishes, and different glitters of my 2012 blogging career. And THANK YOU awesome followers and readers for a great year!

Hunger Games from China Glaze

I LOVE Hunger Games. Who doesn't? I went to the midnight premiere and everything when it came out. And finally, I've come up with 4 of the polishes that I loved from the China Glaze collection through discount bins and a swap! Woo! The first up is Electrify, a gorgeous glitter bomb with small gold and red hexes. I only needed 2 coats for opacity!

Next up is Harvest Moon! You may remember this swatch from way back when I used it as a base for Link from Lucky 13 Lacquer here. It's a lighter brown with golden undertones. Just stunning. I used 1.5 coats since I was lazy that day.

Next is a new favorite. Stone Cold. Do I hear District 12 anyone? This was a gorgeous matte one coater. The base is black filled with tons of silver micro shimmer to give it that shimmery black matte affect. This is definitely a keeper and reminder of the coal of District 12!

Now to one of my fave polishes of 2012....RIVETING! This is gorgeous. Seriously. Wow. Like wow! This is a gorgeous dark orange polish with tons of golden micro shimmer and golden undertones. I feel like I'm the Girl on Fire. Legit. I just didn't want to stamp it yet. It's so gorgeous on its own. This is 2 coats. 2 glittery awesome coats. I'm in love. And have a backup bottle. The stamping will be up tomorrow, I promise! Happy Hunger Games :)

Christmas Lights!

Buon natale! Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas! Hope you are all having a marvelous holiday. For today I have Christmas lights to show my love for Christmas!

I used a huge amount of glittery polish for this! The base is 2 coats of Zoya Ivanka. The lights were made with a black striper and paint brush. I used Zoya Song, Zoya Ziv, and Julep Mischa for the lights. Then I put a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust for some glittery holoness, as if this mani wasn't glittery enough! Then a top coat of Seche Vite topped it off. This is def a 10/10 for glitter! 5/10 for application though. Took a half hour each hand!  Merry Christmas and to all a good night!

Some Muppets for Christmas

Afternoon glittery polish lovers! Today I offer up some Muppets OPIs along with A England's LE Holy Grail that I accidentally ordered. These all make a nice little Christmas mani!

To begin this awesomeness off, I used 2 coats of A England's LE Holy Grail. Now I accidentally ordered it, but I'm glad I did! It's a gorgeous golden yellow with gold and silver micro shimmer. And look at that shine! That's without top coat! The formula was great too. Not too thick or thin.

Now to the glitter. YES. I used 1-2 coats on each finger depending on how much I could get on each dip of the brush. I used Getting Miss Piggy With It on all but my accent nail. It's a gorgeous clear base polish with tons of red dot glitter, red hex glitter, and silver hex glitter! I love it. Then for the accent I used Fresh Frog of Belaire. This one had green dot glitter and silver hex glitter. Man I love these Muppets OPIs! Then a top coat of Seche Vite made it perfect. 9/10 for glitter and 9/10 for application. Loving the Muppets!

Julep and Snowflakes

Evening ladies! Finally after reading some Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden, The Hobbit, and dealing with babies at the daycare, I can finally do my blog post! I wanted to jazz up Julep Ivy, so I figured I'd try my hand at some freehand snowflakes and putting some hex holo glitter I got in a swap!

To start this off, I used 2 coats of Julep Ivy that came in my December box. In the bottle it's a dark blue shimmery base with magentish duochrome, but that didn't translate too much on the nail. Barely did in certain lights. This is still pretty though! Formula wasn't too bad either.

Now to what I call...fail art! lol I was on a whim like, I'll make snowflakes, even though I don't even have a white striper! I used Sinful Colors Snow me white and a small paint brush. After making a simple snowflake design, I added some more lines, and then I put a hexagonal holo glitter in the center. Then a coat of Seche Vite topped it off. While it's not perfect, I like my first attempt. My one coworker said I should work in a nail salon XD While not the best, I'll take the compliment! I say 8/10 for glitter and 6/10 for application.

Candy Canes for Christmas!

Evening glittery polish lovers! I said I'd do candy canes darn it, and I tried my best to do them! The girl at the new Sally's by my house said they were cute, so they can't be too terrible. Here are some candy canes over 2 coats of Barielle End of the Rainbow.

This was a little difficult to photograph, but let's get on to it shall we? I used 2 coats of Barielle End of the Rainbow. Then after bumping my middle finger (I'm such a spazz) I took out my biggest dotting tool. I used it to paint the base of the candy cane with China Glaze The Ten Man, and then I used Barielle Cherry Blossom Sparkler for the stripes. If the babies think they're neat, at the girl at Sally's thinks they're cute, guess I'm okay! 8/10 for application and an 7/10 for glitter.

Need a 1-Up for Christmas?

Hello hello! Had a marvelous first day back at the daycare after a great semester at college.  And all the little babies were mesmerized by my nails. Yup. The one kept wanting my fingers instead of his spoon XD Now to the nails they loved!

I love this. It's one coat of Avon's Ruby Slipper with 2 coats of Dollish Polish 1-UP and a coat of Seche Vite on top. I knew I was waiting to use 1-UP for a reason! This is from the Super Mario Bros. collection. It has small green hexes, small white squares, large white hexes, and white bars.  It was really thin though, which surprised me cause it looked so packed with glitter. It took a bit of dabbing to achieve this. I love it though! This is Christmas on my nails! I give it a 8/10 for application and a 9/10 for glitter. More Christmas themed manis to come!

Dazzling Polish

Evening glittery polish lovers! As the semester draws to a close, I get a little sad. With only 3 semesters of college left, my hearts aches a bit. To cheer me up, there's always a good remedy found in glittery polish! Today I have a lovely swatch of Dazzle from the Sinful Colors Holiday 2012 collection. It's a one coater with Seche Vite on top :)

I haven't had a one coat SC in a while, so this is a plus! It's a dark magenta polishes with with light pink undertones. It also has light pink micro shimmer. Mmmmmm micro shimmer. I'm in love :) I love me a one coater with lots of glitter to beat the midnight winter blues!

Delusional Polish Swatches!!!

Goooood morning glittery fans! I'm up early and itching to show you what I've been working on for the past 6ish days. I love Delusional Polish, and I purchased 3 of Jen's polishes to wear. They were so pretty, I had to wear each one for 2 days. I loved them! On to the swatches!

This is the first of the 3, Snow Caps, a clear shimmery base of rainbow dust filled with holographic hexes!  While my least favorite of the 3, it is still such a gorgeous polish!  It really does look like snow. This is 2 coats over 1 coat of Sinful Colors Dazzle. This is just glittery in the sunlight! And of course, again all this needed was 1 coat of Seche Vite to smooth it out.

Now on to, Count Down (2 coats), over Sinful Color Black on Black (2 coats).  A friend of mine said my nails looked like New Year's, and she was so right! Count Down is a gorgeous mix of gold and silver bar glitter, green square glitter, and multicolored hex glitter! I love it. It's a New Year's party on my nails! And with one coat of Seche Vite, it was totally smoothed out :)

Now to my favorite! This is a polished and dabbed coat of Jack Frost over 3 coats of China Glaze Paper Chasing. I LOVE THIS. It has various sized white hexes, small gold and red hexes, and even large gold hexes! I got a gorgeous one on my pointer. This mani just SCREAM Christmas. And again, just one coat of Seche Vite to smooth it out!  I love all my polish from Delusional Polish, and at $8 a bottle, where can you go wrong? She satisfies my glitter cravings without making me use too much top coat.

Want your own? Go to Delusional Polish's shop and get some for only $8 a bottle: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DelusionalPolish?ref=pr_faveshops

Paper Chasing

For tonight glittery polish lovers, I have a simple China Glaze swatch. Someone wanted a swatch, so I have a shimmery green one for you! I offer up China Glaze Paper Chasing for your viewing delight!

Again, a green I like! This is a gorgeous shimmery green. It's very thin though, so I put on 3 coats with a coat of Seche Vite on top.  Dry time is nice. No pulling when I go to apply a second coat. In some lights it's a medium green, and in others it's a lighter lime green. It's even duochrome between those in some lights! Of course there's great green and gold micro shimmer too. Loooooooove. I'll definitely be using this again!

Holly for the Holidays

Afternoon all! It's closer to December, so here's an early Christmas nail design I came up with! Using China Glaze Angel Wings, Sally Girl Glitter, and a glitter pot from 5 Below, I made this cute holly design!

This was a super easy design, just a bit time consuming! To start off, I used 2 coats of China Glaze Angel Wings from the Holiday 2012 collection and a coat of Seche Vite.  This is gorgeous. It's a lighter gold with holo glitter scattered throughout. I can't decide if I like this one or Glistening Snow better!

I pulled out my dotting tool and put 3 dots together for the berries using the cute snowman shaped polish from Sally's called Glitter. Appropriate? YES! Then I put a coat of Seche Vite on top, placed my star glitter for the leaves, and put another coat of Seche Vite on top. The glitter pot is only like $2-$3 at 5 Below, and my nice friend Megan got it for me :) I love this mani. Very Festive! I give this a 8/10 for glitter and a 8/10 for application. Show me your Christmas nail too!

The Stars in Her Eyes...

Evening glittery polish lovers! Today I give you something that literally took my breath away. Legit. I  won Lynnderella The Stars in Her Eyes from OhThreeOhFour in a giveaway, and over Sinful Colors Nova, the combination is positively stunning!

Let's get to the how to before I gush shall we? To start off, I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Nova from the Holiday 2012 collection. This is WOAH. It's a dark blue-black crelly with dark green micro shimmer through out. I can definitely see how it got its name. Nova it is! Here it is with a coat of Seche Vite on top! This is a tiny galaxy in itself!

Now to The Stars in Her Eyes. OMG. This is my favorite Lynn yet! This is just 1 coat! The formula was extremely workable, and I didn't have any challenging application at all! The Stars in Her Eyes is glittery awesomeness! There are small holo stars, the occasional big holo star (I got one on my pointer!), holo hexes, glowing blue glitter similar to the Bride of Franken, and lots of rainbow dust!

This is glorious. I feel like I have a galaxy or a night sky on my nails. The best night sky ever! Challenging application? Please Lynn don't kill yourself. This was perfect. The glitter in it is phenomenal.  I'm totally in love. With a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite, my nails are smooth and shiny! 10/10 for glitter and 9/10 for application! Woooooo!

Want your own? Lynnderellas can be found out her ebay store here: http://myworld.ebay.com/lynnderella-lynnderella/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

Happiness is a Buff and Shine Away!

Evening glittery polish lovers! As I have finally gotten into nail care, I thought I'd take a break from glitter polish for a day (gasp!), and show you guys a little how to in nail care! First of all, I apologize for my stained nails. The brush on my base coat broke, so I didn't wear one for a few weeks. I have a new one though, so hopefully the stains go away with soaking and base coats! Now to the awesome ASP Miracle Buff and Shine Block from Sally's! Here's the before picture.

Look at those ridgy, not shiny nails! Gosh! So here's how you get those nails less ridgy, more shiny, and primed for polish application! Use the gray side (which is 600 grit) to buff your nails. This smooths them to take away some of those ridges, and this makes polish application easier! I go back and forth along the entire nail for about 10-20 seconds. Then use the white side (4000 grit) to shine your nails up! I feel like if it squeaks, you know it's working! I do about 15-30 seconds depending on the shine I want. And then boom!

Look at that shine! I think my nails even look a bit pinker. Now if I could just get rid of those stains ;) The shine lasted about 2 days, and my nails were wonderfully smooth to the touch. I'm definitely gonna buff and shine my nails more often. It also makes your polish go on so much easier! This is only $2.19 with your Sally Beauty club card, so get it while you can!

Link, The Hero of Time

Evening glittery Black Friday goers! Have you found some awesome sales? Bought some awesome polish? Well if you haven't, you should check out more of the Hylian Hero Collection from Lucky 13 Lacquer! Tonight I give you Link over Harvest Moon!

To create a great base for Link, I decided to use Harvest Moon, a lighter brown with golden undertones and micro shimmer from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection. I used about 1 and a half coats for this, just to fill in the bald spots. I was too lazy to do 2 XD

Now for Link, the reason for the Hylian Hero Collection! This polish definitely shows off the Hero of Time. Blue hexes for his eyes, yellow hexes for his hair, and green hexes for his popular green outfit. The formula for this one was also pretty good. Not to thick and not to thin. And one coat of Seche Vite was all I needed to smooth everything out :) Now brown is not my normal color (to perhaps bring to mind Epona, Link's trusty steed), but with this polish I'm in love! 10/10 for glitter and 8/10 for application hands down!

Want your own Lucky 13 Lacquer? Get them here and get 20% off and a free surprise mini for orders $40+ with code BLACKFRIDAY : http://www.lucky13lacquer.com/shop-lucky-13.html

A Starchild on the Catwalk

Happy Thanksgiving glittery polish lovers! I hope all of you are spending your day with some family, friends, and polish! For today's mani, I have more sparkle times 100, just for Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for my freedom to wear my nails how I please, so here's some sparkle and glitter!

To start this awesomeness off, I used 2 coats of Color Club Catwalk Queen. It was very streaky on the first coat, but the second coat smoothed it out and brought out the shimmer and shine!  This is a very dark purple, almost black in some light, with lighter purple micro shimmer throughout. This is gorgeous, and it's a great purple to add to my collection of polishes I could wear for Stockata events!

Then I used about 2 coats of Barielle Starchild with a coat of Seche Vite on top to complete this glitter bomb look! I LOVE Starchild. More than Picture Polish Glitter Ball (which I swapped).  This polish has various sized holo silver hex glitters. YESSS. My mom even wants a bottle for Christmas! I just kept staring at my nails. Then here's a secret...I used a coat of Yellow Stopper from Sally's under this mani, and the next day I was able to peel it off in one go! No acetone! No foil! Just peels off easily. There will be a post on this soon! And obviously this mani is a 10/10 for glitter! :D

Stockata, the Mani of the Fall 2012 Concert

As you ladies know, last night was the Fall concert for my all female a cappella group, Stockata. As our colors are purple and black, and because I am known as 'The Glitter Queen' or 'Sparkles,' I had to have both glitter in my outfit and on my nails! A while ago, I worked with Sabrina from Black Cat Lacquer to make a custom bottle of polish called Stockata to remind me of my group. What better way to rock Give Your Heart a Break on stage than with this awesome polish? Here's one lovely coat over Avon's Starry Sky with a coat of Seche Vite on top :)

This made me sooo happy. Stockata is easy to work with (not too thick or goopy at all), and is gorgeous! It has medium and small dark purple and black hexes, pale purple dot glitters, and white stars, since we are also nicknamed the Rising Stars as the newbie group (we're just a year and a half old!).  This polish represents us so well, and it even has our name on it! I love Sabrina for making it. She even made a few extra, so I gave mine to our old president and got myself another. There's nothing like this at all! 10/10 for glitter and an 8/10 for application!

Love Black Cat Lacquer? Get some at Sabrina's etsy store here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BlackCatLacquer?ref=usr_faveitems&atr_uid=22148456
