Follow the Golden Rules

You know the rules! The Golden Rules! For Halloween, I offer up Lynnderella's Golden Rules, one gorgeous, glittery polish of awesome!  I got this with the $15 off of $30 Copious credit, so win!

So to begin this glittery goldness off, I used 2 coats of Barielle's Gold Digger, a gorgeous ligth gold polish. It has white undertones with light gold and silver micro shimmer in it. This was super easy application! Barielle is slowly moving up there to the top of my polish list!

Now to the awesomeness on top. Lynnderella's Golden Rules from her Summer 2012 collection. This polish has so much going on! Dark gold small and medium hexes, squares, stars (I love stars!), and dot glitter! There's also holo silver diamond glitters too. Most of the other glitters have holoness too! I love this polish! This is 2 coats with some dabbing for the stars and squares. Then with 2 coats of Seche Vite, I was completely satisfied! I give this a 10/10 for glitter and an 7/10 for application! I love Lynn's polish, but I can't really afford $23 a pop. Unless I get them on sale or swap, I probably won't get anymore for now!

The Nocturne of Shadow

It's playing in your head. You know it. That eerie tune you must play to return to the Shadow Temple in Kakariko in Ocarina of Time. The darkness. The purple. Seems a tad Halloweeny yes? Well here it is! Lucky 13 Lacquer's Nocturne of Shadow over Avon's Starry Sky!

This polish was a dream because the purple in it perfectly matched my homecoming dress for Stockton's Osprey Ball! I used 2 coats of Starry Sky and then 2 coats of Nocturne of Shadow. I love it! As you know, I'm a sucker for different shaped glitters, and this one had squares! Again I love squares! There were black and pale purple dots glitters along with dark purple square glitters. This was gorgeous and definitely made me think of the purple glow of spirits in the Spirit Temple. I also used 2 coats of Seche Vite to get rid of any grittiness. Look at the purple glitteriness!

I love this polish! Lucky 13 Lacquer has not ceased to amazing me. It's not too much thicker than other glitter polish, and it's not too difficult to apply. This lady also satisfies my craving for Zelda polish! She even gives you a discount code if you review her polish! That means you can get more ;) I give this mani a 9/10 for glitter and a 8/10 for application. Keep calm and get through the temple!

Frankenstein!!!!

Good afternoon foolish glittery mortals. I have decided to do a design I haven't seen any of my fellow bloggers do this Halloween yet. Frankenstein nails! This mani was inspired by the stitched together parts that make up Frankenstein!

Let's get this started shall we? I started off with Seche's Ridge Filling Base Coat (cause greens like to stain my little nails!) and 2 coats of Zoya Ivanka, my favorite shimmery dark green! The fill line on this is slowly going down. Darn! Then I pulled out my Sinful Colors Black Striper to make the 'stitches.' This was super easy, but a little harder on my right hand. It's still a little hard for me too use a striper on my right hand, but at least this hand came out pretty good! I give this a 6/10 for glitter and an 8/10 for application. I love my Frankenstein nails! Let me know what you guys can come up with!

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!

Afternoon glittery polish lovers! So it's Wednesday, and in spirit of both Mean Girls and Breast Cancer Awareness, I'm wearing some pink! Zoya Kiki was calling my name, just as HITS MTV Pink Pop was. Why not use them together for a poppin pink mani?

My dears Zoya Kiki! Oh Zoya Kiki. This is my favorite and only shimmery hot pink so far! It is GORGEOUS. It's an uber hot pink (almost neon) with lighter pink undertones and light pink/silver micro shimmer. It even looked like it had some very very light blue undertones in some light! So much going on with this polish! It's slightly duochromy. This is 2 coats. Great formula with no difficulty in application! Then I used my Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops to dry my nails in preparation for the accent nail. I used 2 coats of HITS MTV Pink Pop over Kiki. It smells a little funky and is a bit thick, but there are silver, red, and pink hexes and dot glitter. perfect! Then I topped the whole mani off with a coat of Seche Vite! I give this a 7/10 for glitter and a 9/10 for application! I show my support, will you?

Bride of Franken....Beware!

Oooooo weeeee oooooo! Halloween draws even closer glittery polish lovers! Because of this, I've dipped into a Halloweeny Lynnderella I got a mini bottle of! The girl was selling Lynns in decants so everyone could get a bit of a Lynn at a cheaper price, so I got a mini of Bride of Franken, a ghoulishly gorgeous polish! Here it is over Zoya Indigo!

I just have to say, that this is most probably my fave Lynn yet! Why must I have a tiny bottle? So for this gorgeous shimmery blue and rainbow galaxy on my nails, I used one thick coat of Zoya Indigo. This polish is a pain to apply, I'll admit, because it dries very fast, but it looks gorgeous! It's a nice blue black with scarce silver micro glitter. After a coat of Seche Vite, I used a generous coat of Bride of Franken, which went on wonderfully well. This polish really glows!

This polish blew me away. It literally looks like it's glowing on my nails and in the bottle! It has glowing dark blue hex glitter, silver micro glitter, and as Lynn says, rainbow dust! I love this! My nails are an array of glittery glowing night sky goodness! I love this! And with another coat of Seche Vite, I'm sold. Again, I refuse to pay outrageous prices for Lynns, and to get them as minis from people who will pour out decants from a large bottle is the way to go! I give this mani a 9/10 for application and a 10/10 for glitter. This is love. This is glitter. This is glowing. Gorgeous!

Candy Corn Gradient

Happy Early Glittery Halloween! So for this mani, I wanted to do my own spin on a candy corn mani. What better way to do this than use my little makeup sponge to make a gradient using white, orange, and yellow! This was my first time making a gradient, so it's kinda iffy, but nonetheless, here it is!

To do this, I used 2 coats of Sinful Color Snow Me White and then Courtney Orange and Let's Meet for the gradient. After topping my white with Seche Vite, I put a stripe of orange and yellow on my makeup sponge. I bounced it up and down on paper to blend it, then pressed it to my nail. The orange was a bit thick in some spots, so I didn't like it too much. HOWEVER, I got so many compliments on my nails that I couldn't believe it! Everyone loved them, even though I thought they were not my best. So perhaps it was not the epic fail I thought it was! I give this mani a 2/10 for glitter (there was only some slight shimmer) and an 7/10 for application. I will admit. These nails made me crave candy corn!

A Man Named Seuss

Morning all! Seems like I haven't made a morning post in a while, but when one must do laundry at college, morning is when you have to be up and about! For today, it seems everyone wanted to see Seuss, a great polish that reminds me of the man with the same name! All I can think of is one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish! And the Cat in the Hat as well! So without further ado, here is some Seuss by Whimsical by Pam!

Seuss is a gorgeous polish! This one is very loved by fans of Pam's polishes, and I'm glad I finally got to try it! Seuss is a sky blue jelly base with small red glitter hexes, large silver glitter hexes, and some blue micro glitter throughout. Gorgeous! The formula was also really awesome! I used 3 regular coats of polish to get this opacity. Sometimes the glitter didn't want to come off the brush, but in that case I just dabbed it where I needed it. This was easier to do than Super Hero, and I'm sure it will come off easier too! I love Pam's polishes and am now the proud owner of 3. Her polish looks great, even on my nubs! I give this mani a 8/10 for glitter and a 8/10 for application. It really brings me back to childhood :)

Cackling over Crackle

Welcome foolish mortals! All Hallows Eve draws close, more easy Halloween nails are on the way! To me, green and orange are Halloweeny, pumpkiny colors. What better way to use my Julep Sabrina shimmery orange crackle than over green? So here is an awesome crackle mani!

Lovely! To start this shimmery mani off, I used 2 coats of Zoya Ivanka, a dark shimmery green. This really is becoming my favorite green. I see some good Christmas/St. Patty's Day manis coming from it! It was touch dry by the time I was done all fingers, so then I moved onto the crackle. Now a lot of people may not like crackle, but I've never had a shimmery orange crackle like Julep Sabrina before, and with Halloween around the corner, why not? I used one thin coat of Sabrina. It crackled right away, and it was beautifully done! It crackled beautifully in all places, much better than my Funky Fingers from 5 Below. This is one nice crackle! And it dried in about 10 seconds to the touch too.

Look at the shimmer!!!!  Then I used my Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops. They are amazing! 2 drops per nail and my nails were totally dry in like 20 seconds?! I used no Seche Vite and this mani lasted 4 days with no chips! Lots of compliments too. I give this a 6/10 for glitter and an 8/10 for application. I'm cackling over this Halloween crackle!

Here Comes Jack!

This is Halloween! And here comes Jack! Didn't you know? Well last night I was thinking about how I left Nightmare Before Christmas at home and won't get my claws on it until the 20th, so I decided to put a little NBC on my nails instead! Here's my first attempt at Jack Skellington nails!

I really had no idea where I was going with this, so I just figured, hey, I'll wing it! I used a large dotting tool for the eyes and a small one for the nose holes, then I used a striper for the mouth. The face is over 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and I used Sinful Colors Smoking Hot on top for some glitter. :) I also used Julep's new quick dry polish drops throughout this process! Honestly, they dried my polish in 10 seconds. Legit. It may be more pricey when it's not in a monthly box, but I may have to buy it. No Seche Vite used here! I give this mani a 6/10 for glitter and a 7/10 for application. Get your Halloween on!

Bluey in the Morning

Evening again glittery polish lovers! Seems my posts are moving to the evening later and later. Silly college! So I offer up some more Butter London spam from my Coterie order. One morning, my roomie's alarm woke me up at 8 when I didn't have to get up till 10, so I watched Home Improvement, drew up a table, and did my nails. Woo! This is some of my best non hurried application ever! I give you Bluey and West End Wonderland!

I love Bluey! I needed more shimmer base polishes to use for nail art or glitter layering, and bluey definitely does the trick. It's a sheer blue with green tones and micro glitter. Even some silver micro glitter! 2 coats was all I needed, though if I felt adventurous, I would have done 3. I feel this was fine for me though. This is definitely one of those colors I could see me revisiting and wearing alone. Next we have West End Wonderland, a gorgeous glittery polish, my favorite! I see light and dark gold glitter along with some burn orange glitter in it too! Gives it some depth :) My accent nail is 2 coats over Bluey. Everything is topped with Seche Vite. Love! Lots of compliments on this one. They thought I finally broke down and had my nails done :P I give this a 10/10 for application and a 8/10 for glitteriness. I'm falling hard for Butter Londons!

One Knackered Universe

Evening glittery polish lovers! So I know a few weeks back everyone got their Butter London orders from Coterie. I got 3 polishes along with a matte top coat for only $11 total! Woah! So today I bring you Knackered, a gorgeous layering polish done right over Sinful Color Black on Black!

Is this not gorgeous? It's a universe in a bottle! I love love love my first Butter London! Across the universe is a very sheer blue and purply duochrome that shifts back and forth on the nail. It even has some glorious rainbow holographic glitter in it! That makes the stars! The formula was extremely easy to work it, perfect coverage with little streaking, and the brush was of medium size. Don't worry about handling a square capped brush! That square cap comes off to reveal a easier to hold brush underneath. :) One coat on top of one coat of black makes this a simple universe on your nails that you'll want to stare at all day! I give this a 9/10 for glitter. Who wouldn't?

Checkerboard

Evening glittery polish lovers! Pleasure to see you :) For tonight's post, I show you something I experimented with a few days ago. It is by no means perfect, but I still got tons of compliments for this awesome design! Someone even wanted it on their nails! I give you, Checkerboard Nails with a matte finish!

I'm happy with my first attempt! To start this off, I used an old LE Ulta polish I got in a swap from my friend Joelle, and it's called Jingle Bell Rock, one of my fave Christmas songs! I used 2 coats of this glittery polish. It had beautiful silver and rainbow shimmer to it, the red had some pink in it, but it smelled terrible. Oh those Ulta polishes. Pretty, but they are not even 3 free.

After this dried, I took out my black striper and drew a cross on my nails. Then I filled in 2 black boxes on each nail. When I was finished, I added a coat of Seche Vite to dry it, then a coat of Butter London's Matte Finish. It really looks like a checkerboard now! My only complaint is that matte top coat makes my mani chip faster. Within a day actually, but this looked pretty awesome anyway!

Halloween is Magically Delicious!

Evening glittery polish fans! With my camera cord, I am finally once again armed and ready! Happy Halloween! It's October, which means it's time to start throwing in some Halloween inspired nails! For today, I figured I go with some orange and glitter, so here's China Glaze Riveting topped with Girly Bits Magically Delicious!

Glorious for Halloween, no? I got so many compliments on this mani, even when it had begun to chip! This lasted 4 days, and I had it on before my poor little nails broke. This is one coat of Riveting and a generous coat of Magically Delicious.  I topped this off with only one coat of Seche Vite, and it wasn't too gritty at all! Magically Delicious is a yummy little concoction of gold hexes and gold squares along with some green holo glitter! Love! The only problem I had were the gold squares curling on me, but Pam kindly said she's send me a new reformulated bottle that will not have the curling squares for free! What customer service! You get glitter and kindness all in one! I was not too impressed with January Morning, but this changed my mind. I definitely have to try more of Pam's polishes when I get the chance! The quality is superb, just as her customer service is!  This woman definitely knows how to serve up her glitter!
